Good evening and welcome to this special gathering on the eve of the 7th edition of the Mascom Batanani Walk.
Tonight, we gather to express our heartfelt gratitude to every one of you for gracing us with your presence and support. Your commitment and dedication to this noble cause is truly inspiring, and we are deeply honoured to have you here tonight.
Honourable Mayor we appreciate your warmth and welcome. The people of Francistown are forever filled with love and warmth when we are here. We know that as we all line up the streets from Francistown Council stadium tomorrow, we will feel that energy, that sense of ownership the Francistowners have embraced of the Mascom Batanani Walk being as much theirs as it is for us. We truly appreciate.
Tomorrow’s walk is not just a physical journey; it is a powerful statement of unity, compassion, and collective responsibility towards our communities. By participating in the Mascom Batanani walk, you are not only showing your support for this cause but also inspiring others to follow in your footsteps.
Since it began in 2019, the Mascom Batanani Charity Walk has championed causes that affect us in our daily lives. Societal issues that affect families. As mascom we appreciate our place in society and the communities we operate in. we are one with the issues we all grapple with. The Mascom Batanani Walk has responded to calls on GBV, mental health, children’s rights, Drugs and substance abuse and Digital & Cybersecurity for children.
With your support we make a meaningful impact every year.
We recognise Non Govermental organisations that are doing amazing work and require assistance. we are inspired by the work Journey Of Hope Botswana does. We have been immersed in their loud pink voice and action against Breast cancer. we salute their efforts and it is our honour to have named and for them to have accepted being the Beneficiary of this year’s Mascom Batanani Walk under theme- Step in Unity Against Breast Cancer
This year, through all your participation and support, the Mascom Batanani Walk will help raise funds to assist between 3,000 and 5,000 batswana with breast screening. with Journey of Hope Botswana we will be equipped with information on breast cancer and the checks we need to do.
Tonight let us enjoy this time to connect – not just as stakeholders but as people who share the common goal that roars in action and solidifies that change starts with you. Thank you for standing with Mascom to make a real impact.
