Mascom Celebrates WTISD in Hukuntsi!
Mascom proudly joined the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) celebrations in Hukuntsi, Botswana, under the global theme “Gender Equality in Digital Transformation.” This important annual event highlights the role of the Internet and ICTs in bridging the digital divide, particularly in developing nations.
As part of our continued commitment to digital inclusion, Mascom donated ICT equipment to the Ministry—10 desktop computers and 2 printers—with a total value of BWP 114,146.72.
Leading up to WTISD, Mascom hosted a Girls in ICT Training session in Lehututu under the theme “Girls in ICT for Inclusive Digital Transformation.” This impactful initiative empowered 28 Brigade students and ‘Out of School’ women from Lehututu, Tshane, Hukuntsi, and Lokgwabe to explore and embrace the digital world. Through a series of interactive and educational sessions, participants were engaged in topics such as:
🔹 Breaking Stereotypes in STEM
🔹 Cybersecurity Awareness
🔹 Virtual Reality vs. Augmented Reality
🔹 Motivational Talks & Mentorship
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Communications and Innovations for championing such a noble cause. We look forward to continuing this impactful journey—see you again next year!
