To use the Mascom Collect SMS service, simply send an SMS to 1050(71xxxxxx), with 71xxxxxx being the recipient’s cell number, followed by your intended message.
The recipient will receive a request to accept the charges, e.g.,
“71282669 has sent you a Collect SMS request. Ensure you have enough credit and reply ‘Yes’ to accept a charge of 30t, or ‘No’ to decline.”
- If the recipient replies “Yes”, they will receive your message.
- If they reply “No”, you will be notified: “The intended recipient is unable to bear charges at the moment. Please try again later.”
