 The fair usage policy messages will be sent based on the effective remaining balance at 50MB and 0MB intervals.

  1. This service is available for all Mascom Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers using internet.mascom APN only.
  2. MySocial prices are VAT inclusive for Prepaid and VAT exclusive for Postpaid subscribers.
  3.  Subscription or activation is done through the USSD code *123# or MyMascom DIY app/portal and charges according to the selected bundle.
  4. The validity period of the subscription starts immediately upon subscription.
  5. When MySocial data pack expires, subscribers will receive an SMS notification advising them of their subscription status.
  6. To reduce high data usage, subscribers are advised to turn off other applications which are active on their devices and also turn off data Auto-sync. There are other device background sessions that may not be turned off and these are operating systems specific session.
  7. This service is not available to BlackBerry users.
  8. For unlimited free usage on Facebook, subscribers can access Facebook via Facebook Java App or visit m.facebook.com via mobile browser.
  9. For Facebook, you can enjoy many features such as posting messages, adding friends, uploading photos, editing your profile, like, unlike and Facebook chat.
  10. Facebook Messenger is included in the MySocial service and access is not charged. However access VoIP is not include hence will be charged for.

  13. You can enjoy WhatsApp Chat, creating Groups, Share photos, Update profile, send broadcast messages, and send voice notes and videos.
  14. For unlimited free usage on WhatsApp Messenger, subscribers can use Android App.
  15. For WhatsApp, this product or service is only applicable to official WhatsApp application provided by WhatsApp Inc.
  16.  Additional data charges do apply for download of the WhatsApp application. Official WhatsApp application should be only downloaded through WhatsApp Inc. at http://www.whatsapp.com/download/
  17. Any other unofficial, hack, imitation of the WhatsApp application will not work with this product/service and will incur additional data charges.
  18. Any external URL link or content opened while messaging via WhatsApp application that resulted in user getting information from external source will incur additional data charges regardless whether this occurred within or outside the WhatsApp application.
  19. Sharing location via the WhatsApp application which resulted in information transmitted to and from Google Map service will incur additional data charges.
  20. Cost of purchasing this WhatsApp application (if any) from respective mobile app store before downloading to user phone shall be borne by users themselves. This installation cost is not part of this product/service offering.

  25. Image/media viewing on Twitter & visiting external links/websites are NOT free and will be charged.
  26. Accessing Facebook & Twitter via proxy browsers may result in data charging.
  27. Subscriber may get charged for mobile phone applications consuming data in the background. This can be controlled by turning off such applications.
  28. If you were to access any of the Facebook and/or Twitter and/or WhatsApp via proxy browsers, your usage will be charged from your data balance.
  29. Prices are subject to change at the discretion of Mascom. Such changes in pricing will be communicated through the various media.
  30. Mascom MySocial is NOT applicable when roaming. Any access while roaming will be charged.
  31. The download speed is based on network availability.
  32. Mascom reserves the right at any time to discontinue MySocial data pack offer. Such changes will be communicated through the various media and/or SMS.
  33. Mascom Wireless reserves the right at any time to vary these terms and conditions or to withdraw the MySocial data bundle should it be required to do as a result of, or any changes to, the law. In such event, it is important that all subscribers who have activated the MySocial data bundle offer understand that they waive any rights that they may have against Mascom and hereby acknowledge that they will have no recourse or claim of any nature whatsoever against Mascom, their directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, sponsors, agents or consultants.
  34. A small number of users are responsible for generating large volumes of traffic on Mascom network, which can impact the service offered to our other customers. The MySocial Fair Usage Policy is designed to ensure that all of our customers receive a fast and reliable service and is as below. The applicable bandwidth for Fair Usage Policy is as per below.

  35. For MySocial 1 day, when a user depletes the 500MB and performs a re-subscription of 1day MySocial,  the user will only be able to have access after expiry of the previous subscription.
  36. For MySocial 7&30 days, when a user depletes allowable 500MB, they will only be able to access the service after midnight.
  37. All MySocial subscribers are allowed access to a maximum of 500MB per day regardless of number of active subscriptions. Once the 500MB is exhausted, any access will be charged from available data bundles balance or at out of bundle rate.

What is the validity of the MySocial Same Day bundle?

The bundle is valid from the time of purchase and expires midnight 00:00hrs, on the same day.

Can I subscribe MySocial for another number?

No, you cannot subscribe for another number.

Will I be able to use the service when roaming?

No, MySocial can only be accessed locally in Botswana.

Can I have the MySocial subscription running alongside other data subscriptions?

Yes, MySocial subscription can run along other data subscriptions i.e MyMix.

Can I subscribe for a different MySocial package when I have reached FUP?

Yes, you can subscribe for MySocial Same 1 day package to extend your daily access.

Can I deplete MySocial 1 day before the day ends?

Yes, when a user depletes their 1GB  or 1.5Gb before the day ends, they will not have access to the social media sites, unless they re-subscribe.

If I am on Facebook with an active MySocial subscription but I am redirected to Basic Mode, how do I resolve this?

Put the mobile device on airplane mode for a few minutes, and try connecting again. If the issue persists then call 124 or inbox Mascom on Facebook.
